This is not a very satisfactory despatch. The main questions as to Public Works Extraordinary are not properly dealt with.
Our telegram of 21 Feb was explicit, but there is nothing here to show that he intends to make any reduction, and for all we know, and probably he is going merrily forward with most of the items under this head in the 1902 Estimates. The D.A.G. is awaiting the report of a Committee, which was to have reported in February (see 1688.9).
